The Big Twin Customs
presented by Newmar showcased southern California’s best in Long
Beach for the Cycle
World International Motorcycle Shows presented by Toyota and
58,463 attendees showed up this weekend to see the
best the industry had to offer.

What
a combination of cool we had in the show this weekend. The legendary
Sugar Bear
himself allowed us to show his beautiful old school chopper
Gorjus that I was fortunate enough to have had the
opportunity to sit on. (With his permission of course) The bike not
only blows me away in the detail but it felt like it was made just
for me. The bike’s a rider and I’ve added it to my Christmas list
but after seeing the rest of the display my list just kept
growing.

Mike
Stafford of MGS Custom
Bikes had Radical Simplicity and The
Teaser in the showcase and the reaction was overwhelming from
the crowd. The work involved in these creations and the minds behind
them are just amazing.

Tom
Zima and
Illusion
Cycles blew us all away with the Tom Z Tandem. The
inline three-wheeled custom is amazing and fully functional as a
rider. The rear wheel of the bike can be raised or lowered to allow
for sharper turning radius and the rear suspension is adjustable for
rider comfort.
The
bike itself is an amazing example of pushing the bar up a notch in
the world of customs and the attendees were snapping up picture
after picture of the bike all weekend! Visit http://www.illusionmotorcycles.com/
for more information on the bike and look for more of these in the
future.

Officer
Coy Bradstreet brought in a little bit of control to the display
with the Blythe
Police Special straight from the Blythe Police Department.
Officer Coy is a very cool example of law enforcement’s finest
enjoying the show and representing. We were glad to have them out,
and remember us if you see us in Blythe!
Roland
Sands and
Jesse Rooke
both had a bike in the feature for display purposes and the crowd
loved them. We didn’t allow voting on these but those two builders
sure draw a lot of attention when they’re in the house.

Randy
Smith’s BMW
Custom was a common conversation piece throughout the weekend. The
bike featured a unique powerplant combination with the custom and
the end product was a very cool bike.

Now,
Metric Envy
was in a class of its own, literally…. This bike just arrived in
Long Beach from the Big Twin Invitational in Las Vegas where it won
it’s class, and the bike is truly amazing. Built by Andy Manna and
Justin Scalzi from Viking Motorcycle Company, this bike stopped
everyone in their tracks and it was very easy to understand how it
took to the top honors for the Long beach Big Twin
Customs.
Narrowly
edging out some radical designs from Bo Lucianno with Old Glory, Mike Stafford with Radical Simplicity and
Sugar Bear’s
Gorjus, Metric Envy won the
most votes for the People’s Choice.
Similar
to the Sportbike Customs showcase, the Big Twin Customs were packed
with great bikes in Long Beach and represented some of southern
California’s best. Trying to mention them all would take us to three
pages…so we’ll let the pictures tell the story.
